Investment Products

Effective July 2019, Schwab Hong Kong is no longer offering complex products, which are investment products whose terms, features and risks are not reasonably likely to be understood by retail investors because of their complex structure. These products included but not limited to offshore mutual funds, selected foreign stocks and selected fixed income products, such as preferreds, corporate convertible bonds, corporate subordinated bonds, and corporate perpetual bonds. And the list of products has later been further extended to include All Preferred Bonds and Convertible Preferred Bonds and Virtual Asset fund starting from November 2021. Any complex product orders placed through the Schwab system after the mentioned effective date may be rejected, cancelled or set to closing only.
